RUO Peptides: WooCommerce Payments

WooCommerce does not require WooPayments, which prohibits peptides. RUO sellers still need host, provider and checkout eligibility checks.

Can an RUO peptide store use WooCommerce without WooPayments?

WooCommerce says WooPayments is optional: stores can use other payment gateways. Its WooPayments policy separately lists peptides and other research chemicals among products that cannot transact through that service. The listed prohibition does not state an exception for a research-use-only label.

That answers the software question, not whether a particular store may operate or receive processing approval. MerchantBridge's practical recommendation is to evaluate the hosting arrangement, connected services and proposed payment provider separately. A working WooCommerce checkout does not establish product legality or provider acceptance.

What should you confirm before choosing another gateway?

Start with the actual catalog and sales model. Ask the prospective provider to review your website, products, business location, intended buyers and shipping destinations. Describe research sales accurately; keep any patient-care or prescription business distinct in the explanation.

MerchantBridge recommendation: request written confirmation of the scope the provider is willing to evaluate, then complete its approval process. A gateway listing, an installed extension or a successful test transaction is not written acceptance of your products. Do not treat a provider's support for a different category as evidence that it supports peptides.

  • Ask whether the provider evaluates your exact research catalog and customer model.
  • Identify the processor or acquiring arrangement behind the proposed gateway.
  • Confirm any excluded products, destinations or sales channels before development starts.
  • Check the terms of your host and any connected commerce services separately.

Which WooCommerce integration details belong in the review?

Describe the checkout you actually need, rather than asking only whether a provider works with WooCommerce. Supply the proposed extension name, checkout format and payment methods. Ask who maintains the connection and who resolves failures between the store and payment system.

For repeat purchases, distinguish a returning customer placing a new order from an automatic subscription charge. Ask the provider and extension maintainer to confirm the requested behavior. Do not assume that an integration supporting one-time payments also supports stored payment details, automatic renewals or every refund workflow. These are planning questions, not claims about a particular extension.

  • Confirm compatibility with the store's checkout and current extension versions.
  • Document how payment results update the order status and reach support staff.
  • Agree who handles refunds, failed payments and reconciliation.
  • Confirm the scope and cost of development before committing to an integration.

What should a test order demonstrate?

Consider a hypothetical research buyer ordering supplies, receiving a payment confirmation and requesting cancellation before shipment. In a provider-approved test environment, check that staff can connect the payment to the correct order, identify its status and follow the agreed cancellation or refund process.

MerchantBridge recommendation: test unsuccessful and interrupted payments as well as successful ones. Decide what staff should do when a customer sees an error but the store has an unresolved payment. Confirm the provider's funding and fulfillment guidance; a checkout success screen alone does not settle those questions.

What should you send for a WooCommerce processing review?

Send your website, entity location, research-customer model, expected monthly volume and typical order value. Add the current or planned WooCommerce setup and whether you need one-time orders, invoicing or recurring payments. Mark forecasts as estimates if the store has not launched.

An initial inquiry needs business basics; send sensitive supporting documents only through a requested private upload, and do not include customer payment credentials.
